This course is being offered in two formats by our training partner Seafarers Worldwide, participants have the option of attending in person in the classroom or due to COVID-19 this course is also offered in a telepresence format. The first three days are instructor lead on-line. The final day is in class at our Anacortes training facility. . In an emergency, the lifeboat crew is responsible for ensuring the safety of everyone assigned to their survival craft, which could mean civilian passengers. The Seafarers Worldwide crew is committed to making authentic training equipment available to everyone who needs this certification. With two waterfront gravity davits in the Puget Sound and others constructed around the country at partner schools, there is no substitute for the experience gained in this training.
PSCRB stands for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat. At this training, you will learn about Safety Guidelines, Ship Emergencies, Abandoning the Ship, Personal Lifesaving Appliances, Rescue Operation, Life Boats, Life Boat Launching Devices / Appliances, Life Rafts, Location Aids, Signals and Signs in an Emergency.
This USCG approved STCW course has been developed for seafarers who are responsible for the survival crafts and rescue boats during an emergency situation.
By following this training participants should be able to be in charge of the survival craft or rescue boat during and after launching. Besides this the delegates will learn how to deal with the crew members and the rescue boat and provide first aid after abandoning the ship.
SCOPE
This training is intended for seafarers who are required to take charge of a survival craft or a rescue boat in emergency situations during and after launch, in accordance with:
SOLAS Chapter III (as amended) Regulation VI/2 of the Annex to the STCW Convention and Section A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Code
AIMS
This course aims to provide the training for candidates to launch and take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat in emergency situations, in accordance with the STCW Code. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in survival crafts and rescue boats, other than fast rescue boats, a delegate will be competent to handle and take charge on such boats during or after launch.
