Fast Rescue Boat (FRB) operators uphold an important role in saving mariners, marshaling life rafts, towing vessels in distress, and conducting search, rescue, and patrol missions. At Seafarers Worldwide, we use a number of Rescue Craft, real launching arrangements, and extensive on-water practical training to ensure our graduates not only meet the requirements, but also gain valuable experience that may save lives.

In this USCG approved course you will:
• Take charge of Fast Rescue Boats during and after launch, and upon recovery
• Participate in all aspects of rescue and care of casualties from the water
• Operate FRB engines
• Learn FRB capsize; causes, prevention and righting
• Learn FRB craft; equipment and operation
• Learn FRB maintenance, operations, and casualties
This course satisfies Section A-VI/2 paragraphs 5-8 and table A-VI/2 of the STCW Code as defined by Title 46 Code of Federal Regulation (46 CFR, part 10) and is approved by the United States Coast Guard, recognized by Transport Canada, and other international maritime regulatory authorities.

The United States Coast Guard mandates that all Able Seafarers demonstrate competency in Survival Craft operations. This course solves the problem for mariners working on vessels without open or motorized lifeboats. This is an excellent course for mariners on Oceans or Inland waters who serve aboard the Washington State ferries, fishing vessels, tugboats or any vessel carrying alternative Survival Craft such as a life raft.
This course closely follows the Navigation and Vessel Inspection Circular (NVIC) 0414 which provides guidance for qualification towards or re-validation of STCW endorsements for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (PSC) and Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Lifeboats and Fast Rescue Boats (PSC-Limited).
In this course you will:
Command the launching of a rescue boat
Command the recovery and proper securing of a survival craft
Acting as a member of the launch crew, prepares and launches a rescue boat.
Act as coxswain and operates the rescue boat during launch
Act as a member of the rescue boat crew and carry out all commands during launch.
Act as a member of the recovery crew and recover and stows the rescue boat.
Operate a Rescue Craft engine
Understand what a on-load and off-load hook is and how to safety use one.
Manage survivors and Survival Craft after abandoning ship
Know the correct use of all locating devices, including communication and signaling apparatuses and pyrotechnics
Learn how to apply first aid to survivors and the actions to take to preserve lives

This course satisfies Subpart C of Title 11, 46 CFR for any endorsement of Able Seafarer restricted to vessels without lifeboats.

OUPV to 100 Ton Master Course

This course is held over a ten-day period. The class starts each day at 0800 and finishes at 1700. Each lesson is instructor lead. There is a complete lesson review at the conclusion of each lesson including a progress test. We do not advance to the next lesson until all students successfully pass each lesson test. This is very helpful for students to build confidence in the subject matter and prepare themselves for the final exam on the last day of class.
