Who Should Attend
This course is required for mariners assigned responsibility for taking command of a survival craft during shipboard emergencies.

- Survival craft regulations and emergency preparedness
- Shipboard emergencies and abandon-ship procedures
- Personal lifesaving appliances and survival equipment
- Motor-propelled enclosed lifeboats
- Lifeboat construction, equipment, and onboard systems
- Lifeboat engines, steering, and propulsion
- Launching appliances and davit systems
- Actions to take immediately after launching
- Survival organization and leadership responsibilities
- Care of survivors and post-abandonment first aid
- Distress signals and survival communications

- Safely prepare, launch, and operate a motor enclosed lifeboat
