Standards and Regulatory Basis
This course is based on:
- IMO Model Course 6.09 — Training Course for Instructors
- Elements of IMO Model Course 1.30 — On-Board Assessment
- STCW Regulation I/6 — Training and Assessment
- USCG NVIC 6-97 — Qualified Instructors and Designated Examiners
Successful completion meets the standard of competence for Instructor and Assessor as specified in:
- STCW Code Section A-I/6 and B-I/6
- 46 CFR 11.309(a)(3)(i)
Graduates receive a Certificate of Training documenting successful completion of the 40-hour STCW Train-the-Trainer Course.
